will directly engage Garifuna New Yorkers. The mission of this vibrant and impactful
initiative aims to amplify civic knowledge, engagement, and political empowerment.
More than just a campaign, it is a movement designed to inspire and foster
a generation
of informed voters and active citizens.
Our goal is to ensure that Garifuna voters are informed about elections and empowered
to
use their votes effectively.
Ensure that the Garifuna
community is no longer a "Hidden Demographic"
Ensuring an accurate 2030
Census count to determine the political representation of our community for the next ten years.
Nonpartisan Voter education, registration, and mobilization initiatives through culturally and linguistically competent campaigns.
Official recognition of "Garifuna Heritage Month". A concentrated, culturally unified voting bloc that is currently "up for grabs."
Ensure that the Garifuna community is no longer a "Hidden Demographic. Prevent the undercounting of Garifuna, Afro-Latino and Indigenous groups.
Leverage geographic concentration in the "Garifuna Corridor" of the South and Central Bronx.
Nonpartisan voter registration campaigns. Mobilize the "Hidden Demographic" into a recognized political force.
"Hidden Demographic" into a decisive voting bloc that cannot be ignored at City Hall or at the New York State Capitol.
